Not sure we have ever heard the speedometer noise referred to as a squeal before - and I am suspicious that what you are hearing is the rear drive belt torquing over to one side of the rear pulley.
Have a look at the sides of the drive belt- is one side showing signs of rubbing - it may be that it is shiny -
I would take a serious look at the belt alignment before fiddling with the speedometer.
Keep the rubber side down
